Sweet, Sweet, Johnes
Johnes Sawyer, the manager at Cafe' M inside the MMFA was taken from us this past Saturday morning. For the short time I was employed by the Museum, Johnes was such a joy to be around. I can still hear him say, "Girl, you so crazy!". He had a love for all of his customers, and had that same love for his job. For many people, Johnes was the reason they came to the Museum. His laugh was contagious! Johnes also worked for the caterer, Jenny Weller. When I decided she had to do the food for our wedding, I also insisted Johnes had to be there, too. He was more of a hit than the food. That's how he was though, people just loved him! I wish all of you could have known Johnes, he really was something else. Passionate about the arts and was even a little artsy himself. Johnes, you will be missed more than you know!

You Are the Best Thing
Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day! How can you not? The temperatures are spring like! Maybe the fact you can eat chocolate all day and no one will judge you, will help this Monday seem a little less "Mondayish". Sending lots of love to ya'll today!

Victoria Hagan
For Christmas, Taylor gave me a book of Interior Portraits that I can't seem to put down. Victoria Hagan, an Interior Designer based out of New York, has got it going on. Today, I met with a fabric rep who was showing her new designs, which will premier on the 17th. Somewhat obsessed! I thought I would share my excitement with you.
Some of my favorites from her book:
And her furniture?
beautiful.

Happy Birthday TayPhil!
sweet seats |
The next morning we hit up the Coca-Cola Museum and the Aquarium, both of which, were thoroughly entertaining. Taylor's highschool buddy, Chris, works at the aquarium so we got to see a little behind-the-scenes action. For lunch? TACO MAC AGAIN. I'm not sure what it is with the Phillip's men, but they sure love restaurants with the word Taco in them.
That night, we ate dinner at the Vortex. They have a really cool atmosphere and some of the best hamburgers around. Using our handy Urban Daddy app (you should download it if you don't have it-fun for big cities) we found an Irish Pub, Ri Ra. Our bartender-actually Irish, made some pretty stout drinks and by the end of the night we knew her life goals and all about her upcoming move to Vegas.
Saturday a.m. we get our stuff together and head out of town, but not before we swing by The Varsity for a chili cheese hot dog, chili cheese hamburger and a frosted orange. What's a frosted orange? Not really sure, but it kinda tastes like an orange creamcicle.
